I installed xp yesterday on a formatted drive.

Since then then i have not been able to fix things in msconfig > autostart.

All options are greyed out as attached pic shows, no x´s or v´s or anything.

Norton tells me things are not properly installed so i need to play around with those autostart options.

I have tried to reinstall xp once already, no luck.

What can i do?

Update: Forgot to attach pic, but here it is.

You need to go to the General tab (whatever that is in Swedish) and choose "Selective Startup"

Then you should be able to uncheck some of the items.

You will notice, though, that Windows will display a message on startup stating that you are in selective startup, and that this mode is typically used for debug, blah blah blah...

I just did this and it allows me to change items.

I will see if I can find anything that might help you.

Thank you everyone who has been involved in this. :)

I have found out it is my graphics card making this trouble. It turned out to be a trojan installed by my Nvidia card.
