erikzett Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Whats the difference between a Permanent and Temp Redirect? I see this option at Cpanel - is one more search engine friendly (ie Google) than the other? Thanks Rock Sign Quote
DarqFlare Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 I'm not sure the range of "devices" this affects, but let me tell you in terms of search engines. With a temporary redirection, a search engine upon seeing it, will go to the new location only that one time. The next time it comes around, it will try the old one again. With a permanent redirection, it will always access the new location once it reads the redirection statement. Quote
