james8547 Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Hi! I have 2 domain names (www.a.com and www.b.biz) and 1 silver hosting plan. a.com is pointing to TCH's nameservers. b.biz is forwarding to a.com. My question: Is it possible to have a "james@b.biz" email address with just 1 hosting plan? If so, how? TIA Quote
ThumpAZ Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 If you are using an email client other than the webmail, then, yes, you can easily. You simply setup two different email accounts within the email client and that's that. I know that in the Microsoft products, they allow you to select which account you want to send form (Outlook 2000 and up) and Outlook Express allows similar if I recall correctly. Other than that, I make no assurances. Quote
james8547 Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 I see. But how am I going to receive emails that were sent to james@b.biz? I'm sorry. I'm new to this. I've been reading up on MX Record redirection. Basically, a.com is registered at network solutions. The DNS is set at TCH's nameservers. b.biz is at Godaddy. Its DNS is parked at Godaddy, but I set the Domain forwarding to a.com. Quote
jslagle Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 You need to open a ticket with TCH and have the second domain parked on top of the first. When that is done go to godaddy and set TCH's domain servers instead of forwarding. Then you will be able to set up emails for both domains as soon as propagation occurs. Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I believe what you want, can be controlled by cpanel if you use the help desk to park one domain on top of the other see Multiple domains & Email, Will CPanel manage it?. The link to the help desk is above. And Welcome to the family James hope to see you here often. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Welcome to the family, James! You're going to love it here! Thumbs Up Quote
