Jimmy Legs Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 i was just trying to email a fairly large file and the server returned an error saying it was too big. what is the maximum file size that can be emailed and can this be changed at all? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 There is no size limit imposed by TCH but the receiving end may have a size limit. How large was the file? What was the exact error returned? Quote
borfast Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Jimmy, were you using your e-mail client or one of the webmail packages on the server? If you were using webmail, the attachments' size is limited by the maximum file size allowed to upload. Quote
Jimmy Legs Posted February 11, 2004 Author Posted February 11, 2004 it was about 15MB. it may well have been the receiving server's limits then, cuz the email (using Eudora, not web-based mail) said it went through but as soon as the whole thing processed, it returned the error saying something like "server refused; message too large". so the trouble is probably on the other side. TCH-Bruce Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Yes, the problem is the receiving end. Create a folder in your web space and upload the file using FTP and send the person you are trying to send it to an email with the link to download it. That should do it. Quote
