dmakovec Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 This probably sounds like a silly question, but I'll ask anyway I'm an IT contractor with a contract that's about to run out. So this evening I hopped on my friendly contract site (Jobserve.co.uk) and grabbed a rather large list of agencies with which I wish to apply, and happily started sending them copies of my CV. I sent the message addressed to myself and bcc'd to several agencies at the same time. The first few copies of the message went through fine, but after about a dozen emails I started getting "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender" messages. The contents of the return messages were as follows: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: xxx@xxx.com: unrouteable mail domain "xxx.com" (message repeats for each address in the list) I note that I can still send emails to myself however. Also, I have had no email informing me that I have surpassed my transmission limit. Has this problem been caused by my sending too many copies of the message setting off a spam warning, or is there some sort of network issue? By my reading of the TCH spam policy, I haven't violated it since all of the addresses to which I sent mail are listed on the site for sending contractor CVs to. Any ideas what's happened here? TIA! Cheerio, d Quote
Deverill Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 There is a limit of 50 outgoing emails every 300 seconds. Some family members use Dada for mailing lists and it seems to works well. You can find it at mojo.skazat.com or simply limit the number of outgoing emails to batches of about 45 and space them out. Best wishes on a new contract! Quote
