Permissions Question

Hi All! :)

I'm new here. Why would changing the permissions of a directory to be 754 (me: everything, group: read & execute, public: read) cause the files within that directory to no longer show? Since the files within the directory are only jpgs, I do not need this directory to be executable, right? All the files in the directory have permissions 644.

Does the directory need to be executable? <_<

Thanks,

Anna

For some reason I don't really understand, PHP scripts can't access files in directories without execute permissions. I get "permission denied" errors.

I've never seen this anywhere except for TCH.
