Hi.

I have narrowed my hosting choice between you and another web host. I was wondering if you allow access to the .htaccess file, or if you can add MIME types to your servers if necessary.

With my current web host, I had to add some MIME types to the .htaccess file so a web link on my page would launch the Windows Media Player in the Netscape browser via a metafile link. The host did not want to add the MIME types to their server, but gave me permission to add them to the .htaccess file associated with my site.

If the MIME types for .asx, .wmx, etc., don't exist in your system, or won't be added by you, I'd need to add them to the .htaccess file. Would this be an issue with TotalChoice Hosting?

Thanks.

I was just checking other questions and saw a post that caught my attention: "Apache Config. File" (as I know .htaccess is associated with Apache servers).

So I can add MIME types to the .htaccess file is my conclusion, from the answer to that post. Just want to confirm that, if I may. Thanks. ;)

Welcome Digizone,

You have complete access to your .htaccess files in any of your domains hosted here. You can set up a master one for the whole site or set up a different one in every subfolder... your choice.
