more .htaccess...sorry

Okay, this may have been covered...

 

I'm using Frontpage for my website (I'm beginning to understand why some follow FP with ##$!&) and movabletype for my blogs. THe problem is this...

 

Currently frontpage publishes to the root of the oublic_html directory, and MT is partially in the cgi-bin folder, partially in the mt-static folder, and partially in a weblog folder. When I publish my site and tell Frontpage to only update changed files/folders, it runs through ALL the MT stuff (outside the cgi-bin) folder and asks if I want to remove it. No one seems to know how to tell Frontpage to stop that behavior...that it can't be in charge of everything. Currently my web site is small and I can get around the problem if by telling Frontpage to republish the entire site. But since I'm still on dial-up, that option will get out of hand rather quickly. So what I'm doing now is publishing frontpage in a subdirectory of the public_html folder. That seems to work...it doesn't ask me any questions about files outiside the new folder.

 

So my question (too late to make a long story short) is how do I alter the .htaccess file to point to the index.htm file in the /fp' folder? Most of my attempts so far either leave me with a index of the public_access folder when I tr to access the website, or an error.

 

I know it is something simple...but I also know that I'm currently trying things I've tried before...which is a sure sign of growing frustration.

 

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
