I know i need to submit a help desk ticket to have the hosting contact changed but when i logged in to the Domain registration (administration) i saw that i can change contact for domain myself?

Have i understood it all right?

If I understand your question correctly, you want to change ownership of a hosting account. To change that you will want to submit a helpdesk ticket. What you are seeing is changing the contact information on the domain name itself. These are two separate things and if you get a name and hosting account for another person you will want to change both of these to the new persons name. You will have to wait 60 days before doing a change of ownership on the domain name though. ICANN rules.
