runninghorse Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 I've been warned to host my website and register my domain name with two different companies, for security purposes, in case I decide to switch hosting providers, etc. I'd like to know your input on this. I'm currently looking at the reseller plans and see that a domain name comes with them, would that still be mine if I chose to find hosting elsewhere? Thanks folks. Runninghorse Quote
jslagle Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 The important thing is that when you register a domain that the registration is in YOUR name, not the host and that's the way it is with TCH. Domain name purchase is a independent process from the hosting side of their business. I don't think a domain name comes with a reseller plan. At least one didn't come with mine. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 jsagle is correct, when you register a domain name thru us the domain is in your name, not ours...you are free to take it with you if you change hosts. And none of our plans include a domain name. Quote
