thelemming47 Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Will the temp. URL continue to exist once my own domain name is up and running? What I'm asking is.... can I use this temp. URL as a link to a message forum that uses my backgrounds and icons. At the moment they are being hosted by a free site that doesn't block them but is sooooooo slow and seems to be unavailable more times than its there. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 the "temp url" is actually the IP address of the server followed by your username. So the simple answer is yes its permanent. If you wanted to set up some type of forum what i would do is once you have your log in info go into cpanel and create a folder under your public_html folder called forums or something. Then the url for it would be http://123.123.123.123/~username/forum That url will always work, and once you domain name is set up and everything is working going to www.domainname.com/forum will give the same result Quote
