Lianna Posted January 26, 2003 Posted January 26, 2003 Site Settings entries for CuteFTP - To publish before your DNS has propagated: Label for Site: My Site at TCH FTP Host Address: 123.123.123.123 (Replace with the IP address sent in your welcome letter) FTP Site User Name: myname (Replace with the username sent in your welcome letter) FTP Site Password: ****** (Enter the password sent in your welcome letter) FTP Site ConnectionPort: 21 Login Type: Normal Now, click the Edit button to access other settings. General tab - Host-Type: Auto-detect General tab - Default Remote Directory: public_html General tab - Default Local Directory: c:\My Documents\mywebpages (Browse to the folder on your pc containing your web pages) Click OK to close the Site Properties dialog box. Click Connect button to attempt connection. To view your site after publishing and BEFORE DNS propagation, enter the following into your browser address bar: http://123.123.123.123/~myname Replace IP address and username with those sent to you in your welcome letter. AFTER DNS Propagation - Simply change the CuteFTP Site Manager settings of FTP Host address from the IP Address to: ftp.**** (using your domain name of course).
