Hockley Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Any guideance on how to apply a resource level password to a subdirectory? I really don't want to setup IDs and passwords for each individual. Thanks, Quote
TCH-JimE Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Hi, You can give just one generic username and password if thats what your looking for. Goto site management, web protect and select the folder you want to protect. Give it a username and password and then just tell your members. Thats the only way Jim Quote
surefire Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 I would go with Jimuni's suggestion. But just to make the waters a little muddy, here are two other ideas: 1- build you own database driven system to check for passwords 2- use one already built and ready to use. Some TCH members have had great success with Amember. See the TCH help pages and third party software. Or another place you might look is HotScripts. Found at hotscripts.com Look under PHP or Perl/CGI Quote
Hockley Posted October 9, 2003 Author Posted October 9, 2003 Thanks for the ideas. I had thought of the generic ID and password but wanted to see if there was any other method available. I do appreciate your quick answers. Rock Sign Quote
