Munnin Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Can some one point me to a good resource for Mailman? I am trying to figure out how to configure it the way I need it and am having a few problems. Or you can share your brilliance with me here. Thumbs Up 1) I want people to be able to subscribe by simply sending an e-mail but the majordomo commands seem to get treated as submissions. 2) Is there anyway to not require a password for subscription? I haven't really used Mailman (only poked around it a little bit), but here are a couple of suggestions: To send subscription requests (or any other requests) via email, send them to yourlist-request@domain.com. Put the "subscribe" command in the message body, and I think that should do it. To not require a password, I think you can just set the "steps required for subscription" option (found under privacy options) to "confirm." New subscribers will need to respond to the confirmation email, but I don't think they'll need any password. In case you haven't come across it yet, list.org has lots of documentation that may be helpful. I hope this is useful -- best of luck! Quote
Wilexa Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 There was another thread while ago on the subscribe-email-address issue. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...?showtopic=3681 Chunkeroni wrote: listname-subscribe@****** so say I had a list called FANS and my domain was TCHrocks.com it would be FANS-subscribe@TCHRocks.com that may have been simple to some but it stuck me ...dave Quote
