New Cron Job Trouble

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to set up a cron job. I've been able to get a command line to run every 10 minutes (for testing) so I'm happy that cron itself is working.

The command line I'm using is:

php -q /home/myservername/public_html/wp-cron.php?_nonce=818e7a73&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=2

which returns 'No input file specified'.

---------------------------------------------

I've tried:

php -q http://mydomainname/wp-cron.php?_nonce=818e7a73&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=2

using EasyCron.com with success.

---------------------------------------------

After the success with EasyCron I tried:

php -q http://mydomainname/wp-cron.php?_nonce=818e7a73&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=2

which returned 'No input file specified'.

---------------------------------------------

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

You are trying to pass your variables directly to the PHP command-line interpreter as if you were calling a URL, which which will not work.

Try one of the following formats:

php -q /home/username/public_html/wp-cron.php _nonce=818e7a73&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=2
php -q /home/username/public_html/wp-cron.php "_nonce=818e7a73&backwpup_run=runext&jobid=2"
