Error : 0 - Pdo Connection

[Boonetown]

I'm getting this error when accessing my site: boonetown.com

 

Error: 0 - PDO Connection Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2054] The server requested authentication method unknown to the client

A little history and it's the short story...

 

My website is/was a Joomla 2.5 RocketTheme site. I developed a RocketTheme 3.2 website for a new client as a sub folder to my website (and it's still working) boonetown.com/fresco. After all the development I thought I'd would update Joomla before moving it to the clients hosting site so I ran the Update Feature in the Joomla backend. Everthing worked and looked good except it broke my site. My site just came up as a blank page, however I could get into the Administrator backend. No one at RocketTheme had an answer so I decided to restore from backup but that did not work. Same thing blank site.

 

So then I decided to upgrade my site from 2.5. to 3.2 and that is where this error first appeared. I can't find much info on this error that is related to what happened during a upgrade.

 

Well back to the drawing board.

 

I deleted my database and recreated it. I confirmed that it was gone and the recreated database had no data in it.

I then installed a fresh new installation of Joomla 3.2 and the RocketTheme just like I've done in the past using their Rocket Launcher. And wouldn't you know it, I'm getting the same error as above. I'm at my wits end here.

 

What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I googled it a bit, and it looks that might have anything to do with the recent php upgrades, so please open a ticket with the help desk and see if they can help. Link in my signature.
