TheMovieman Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Not sure if this is the right section, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using Piwigo (http://piwigo.org/)? I know someone else who has it and fits my needs for an image gallery. The installation seems simple enough: You download the zip file, unzip the files and upload to the server (they suggest under a folder like photos). Where I get confused in what to provide before installing is the following: - MySQL host - User - Password - Database name Normally when I install these it's through Fantastico, so how do I it here? Is it as simple as setting up a new user in cpanel and creating a database? In the meantime, I'm going to re-explore Coppermine but even if I go in that direction, still interested if others have used Piwigo before. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Never used it but your values would be the following. These values would go into the configuration file for the application (they should provide a sample that you can edit). You would first have to create the database, user and add the user to the database through cPanel. - MySQL host - localhost - User - cpanel-name_user-you-created - Password - just-the-password-you-created for above user - Database name - cpanel-name_database-name-you-created Quote
