mitzibear Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 What exactly is the Index manager. I have went in and turned off the indexes on some of my folders but what exactly does it do and do they need to be turned off? Mitzi Quote
TCH-Sales Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 Well say you have a folder filled with images: yoursite.com/images/ When you type the above into your browser it'll show all the images in that folder. What the index manager does is change what's shown when you do that. If you turn off the index, then people will get a forbidden message when trying to access that folder. Good for protecting stuff you don't want others to see, but it's not fool proof.. Quote
mitzibear Posted August 25, 2003 Author Posted August 25, 2003 very neat indeed I think I will do that on all my folders lol. Yeah nothing is certain to keep everything safe on the net The hotlink is to help keep people from linking to your images right therefore stealing your bandwidth right? I have it set up as well. Along with No right click lol. Mitzi Quote
