sheryltoo Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I've been trying to open a folder under the public html folder and I keep getting a message saying a script is causing IE to run slowly and if I continue, my computer may become unresponsive. It asks me if I want to stop running the script and if I say no, nothing happens and if I say yes, nothing happens. It won't let me open the folder. I can open all the other folders in the public html folder but this one that holds files for my smf message board. I have a couple message boards and different folders for each board and I don't have any problem opening the other folders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sheryl Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I would open a ticket with the help desk and ask them to try the same thing as you have tried, since all other (more or less identical) folders works. Quote
SteveW Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Try saying No (don't stop running the script), and then wait 5-10 minutes to see what happens. The script in question is probably the "magic-revision" script that has something to do with displays in cPanel. It must be a long script, and JavaScript is slow. Some SMF folders have hundreds of files in them, and the script may be spending all that time formatting the page. I've encountered this message at some point in cPanel with IE, and if I waited long enough, whatever I was expecting to happen did eventually happen. Quote
