esr Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I have set up an email forwarder and pointed it to my autoresponder with a different host. So, ideally, it should go like this: Person sends email to myforwarder@my domain.com My forwarder sends their email to myautoresponder@differenthost.com My autoresponder responds to the person who sent the first email. However, every time I test this, I never receive the response from the autoresponder. I know the autoresponder works because I have tested it by sending an email to it directly. Then it hit me. Maybe I should find out if email forwarders work with autoresponders. And, if they do, why isn't mine working? Thanks in advance. Kim eBaysellersresource.com Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Welcome to the forums Kim Email forwards look like the email went to the address directly. The mail transport just routes the mail where ever the forward is pointed too. You don't say where the autoresponder is. Could be the forward is never getting there. You cannot forward to AOL, Comcast or Yahoo accounts. Quote
esr Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Hi Guys, The autoresponder is ****@info.trafficwave.net So, you're saying it SHOULD work, right? If so, perhaps it's the autoresponder.......... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Yes, it should work. But why don't you just set up the autoresponder in your TCH account? Quote
esr Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Yes, it should work. But why don't you just set up the autoresponder in your TCH account? I need automatic follow ups. Thanks for your help. I sure appreciate it. Quote
