Hello,

I'm interesting to buy an hosting plan from TCH, but now I have some question to ask before I place my order:

Here is my case:

I have a website named www.abc.com, for example.And it's running and serving.

Though I plan to transfer it to hosted in TCH, but I'm not sure if it can run well after transfering without any problem. And I don't want to shutdown it more than 24 hours and have my members wait until I tune up the site.

So, My questions are :What can I do after I buy and hosting account from TCH?

Can I get a IP address point to my hostinfg space to test my site temporarily, or can I redirect my subdomain, says test.abc.com, to my hostinfg space. After I test and make sure that it's ready to run, then redirect my www.abc.com from my old hosting place to TCH, without have my memeber waiting my site reopen too long?

Thanks for your replies and Help.

You will get an temp address to access your site, heres what I would do.

order your plan and start uploading your site, once you get it all set up and make sure everything is working the way you want it to then change the DNS of your domain name to point to your site a TCH, it takes a day or so for the DNS to propogate so some visitors will see the site at your old host and some will see the site at your new host for the first few days. After that I would wait about a week and then you can cancell your account with the other host, doing it that way your site is never cown and your visitors never even know you moved.

If you are using a forum,

you could get it set it up here and

restore a back up to bring it up to date,

then on your old host site change the link to the forum to point to the forum here

like http://ip address from your email/~cpanlename/forum/

That way your visitors will be using the forum here as the domain propagates and will never lose a post.

then after propagation change the link back.

Oh yes
