Greetings Siswati,

through either WHM or CPANEL, how do I restore the functionality to view hideen(DOT) files in file manager?

I am assuming (since you must have a reseller account given you know about WHM) that you have tried the following:

post-1402-1199884553_thumb.jpg

I.E. just close the current file manager window and then click the icon again to reopen the file manager.

Now, if you have instead turned it off for accounts on your server that is another story....

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Patrick

When you click the file manager icon you will see the option:

File Manager Directory Selection

- Select your directory (best choice is Home Directory)

- Check Show Hidden Files (dotfiles). Then you will see the hidden/dot files.

Hi Alex and Patrick

yes the prompt window no longer appears for this particular site - I suspect that it was turned off by accident by one of our staff. I have access to WHM (ded server) so how to I turn it back on again?

I can access hidden file through legacy file manager OK as the prompt still appears there as it does on regular file manager on the rest of the sites on this ded server.

thanks for the help

Hi Dick

Tsk Tsk ......note that I said one of our staff (not one of yours) LOL - yes someone in my organisation switched off the option box. Thanks for the link. I am still trying to reset the option, but without success so far

thanks for your help

regards

Siswati

We didn't it turn it off, you selected the option to "Skip this question" so its opening the file manager with the last options set.

Please see this post to correct it - http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...st&p=211572
