realturkey Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Hi here i am again, I have got the database working. There is only one small problem. I have to put the magic_quotes_gpc 'on'. I found a lot on google, the main thing is i can make an .htacces file. Where can i put this file? If i put it with filezilla on my website between the joomla files it does not work. And reading all documents carefully it seems i have to change it in the server? How can i change this? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 The .htaccess file should be put in the folder where you have joomla installed. So if joomla is installed in the root/public_html, the .htaccess goes there. If joomla is installed in subfolder (example your-tch-domain.com/joomla), the .htaccess goes there. Quote
realturkey Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 i have joomla installed in the map httpdocs? Quote
TCH-Andy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 What's the domain name ? As Thomas says, it should be uploaded as a plain text file into the public_html folder ( remembering the '.' at the beginning of .htaccess ) or into the folder which you are running Joomla in. Quote
realturkey Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 What is the public_ html folder? Where can i find it? Is it possible that i can not reach this folder? my domain name is kemer-turkije.nl Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I am not sure if you are hosted on a TCH server but you do not appear to be according to a whois search, so depending on how your host have it all set up I guess it will be a bit hard to answer but someone else might have an answer to this. You should purchase an account here then we could answer it more easier. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 It looks as if they use plesk ... so the format will be /var/www/vhosts/kemer-turkije.nl/httpdocs/ You can put the .htaccess file into the httpdocs folder Quote
realturkey Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Hi Guys, Well we did it again.
