heirofgrace Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Hello TCH family. I've been TCH to host my blog for a couple years now. This morning I logged on to post and discovered all my posts have been replaced by this error: [Mon Nov 26 11:56:19 2007] [error] PHP Warning: preg_replace_callback() [<a href='function.preg-replace-callback'>function.preg-replace-callback</a>]: Unknown modifier '|' in /home/tulpps/public_html/wp-content/plugins/markdown.php on line 827 You can see it yourself here. I went to my PHP file and sat scratching my head at the thought of REALLY having to count out 827 lines to find the "l" modifier, and then what to do with it if, by some miracle, I found it. I'm clueless. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Donna Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Welcome to the forum, Donna. What version of wordpress are you using? Your server was recently upgraded to php5/mysql5 and I am thinking that this might be the case. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 The error you are seeing is due to an older version of the plugin PHP Markdown that is not compatible with php5. I have replaced this plugin for you with the latest version and your site is now rendering posts correctly. Quote
heirofgrace Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Wow, you guys are fast. Thanks. I think I love you. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 If you are not on the current version of WordPress I highy recommend that you upgrade. It's not hard. With the new version your plugins page will let you know if there are updates for any of them. Quote
heirofgrace Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Bruce, I always laugh when a techie says "It's not hard". I can make ANYTHING computer-related very difficult. It's a gift I was born with, ya know? But I'll take your word for it and give upgrading WP a shot when I get home tonight. "Bruce said this isn't hard" will be my mantra". Have a great day. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 It really is easy. Basically it´s a 4 step process, explained more here, but here in short: 1) Download the zip file and extract it on your own computer. 2) Replace the wordpress files in your server space with these recently downloaded. 3) Go to your-tch-domain.com/wordpressfolder and follow the instructions, usually just one or two steps. 4) Do something nice for yourself. And not to scare, but make sure to have a backup of your files and database first. Quote
