Ssl Name Mismatch

Spillover from another thread...

I am developing a site on TCH, but the current domain is on another site now, will be transferred when new site is done. I want an SSL certificate for the new site, using the domain name, but would like to get it and install it so it is ready BEFORE the actual DNS switch is done to point to TCH. I believe I can do this, but will get SSL certificate mismatch warnings in browser UNTIL the DNS is switched...right?
