It's been a long time since I've used CPanel.

I'm designing a basic site to get me started, but at present I can't view an image on my site

www.natural-light-cambridge.co.uk

What premissions should I set for images and html pages?

Why is this image not displayed, any thoughts?

Thanks

First question: Does "naturallightoptrgb.gif" exist in the public_html folder?

Second question: Do you have hotlink protection turned on?

Files and images should work if they are set to 644 (-rw-r--r--) permissions.

Off hand I would say the image has not been uploaded yet.

Permissions for pages and images when uploaded with ftp are 644

How are you uploading?

The image is placed in the public_html images folder

At first I thought the image might have been CMYK, but I've redone the image as a PNG and it states that it's an RGB file.

naturallightopt.png

File Type: PNG image data, 746 x 178, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced

I'm using CPanel to upload.

I do not see the image when going to

www.natural-light-cambridge.co.uk/naturallightopt.gif

or

www.natural-light-cambridge.co.uk/naturallightopt.png

The image and associated urls should be naturallightopt.png

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong in GoLive?

Have you look at your site with an ftp program or cpanels file manager to see what is there?

Is there a check box or option to upload referenced files in golive?

At last!! I've got it to work.

Not sure what made the difference, but I logged into the cpanel by not using the pre domain propagation url and placing the image in the html folder instead of the images folder.

I'm just glad it's working.

Thanks for the contributions and taking the time to reply.

Glad you got it to work but it sounds like your GoLive is not set to publish subdirectories.

If the image is in the images folder the image tag needs to look like this:

><img src="/images/name-of-image">
