Thanks for your time on this. I've removed the other redirects and I'm using the code which you have provided. However, (www....index.html is not redirecting to www....co.uk/ as it did before. Also when I click on a homepage link within an inner page on my site, the link arrives at www..../index.html Will this cause duplicate content on google?

Hi, I'm trying to resolve a canonicalization issue with my site to improve serps in google. As you may be aware, these are the 4 variations that exist: http:// www.mysite. com/ http:// www.mysite .com/index.html http:// mysite .com/ http:// mysite .com/index.htm The internal links on my site point to the homepage as <a href="index.html" etc My back links from external websites point to http:// www. mysite .com/ In cpanel, I'm not sure if I have set up my 301 redirects correctly. My browser and various online redirect tools give different answers. How do I set up the 301 correctly? I'd like them to all point to www.mysite . com/ Thanks

Thanks for the detailed answer. I guess I'll be fine as long as I update wordpress. I read over on the google webmaster forums that someone had lost there serp position after a hack which left all sorts of malware and spam hidden on his site. I was hoping to prevent such cases as it would probably happen without being aware. I do have a bot that visits my contact form each day and sends me a little bizarrely spelt spam message. I don't have email set up on my domain, but have a contact form which is sent to my gmail account. I'm assuming that this spam message will only be sent to my gmail account and not to everyone else.

I have been with Total choice for quite a few years and my recent site is 1.5 years old. I would like to take some measures to secure my site and was wondering what is needed? Do TC look after it all through automatic upgrades or is there any manual upgrades that are needed through CPanel? I am concerened about possible spam hacks and where to look for and prevent them. I uploaded my blog last night into the public_html directory and everything looks good. At the moment, the url for the blog is mydomain.co.uk/wordpress. For search engine optimisation, I would like to change the url to another name or maybe just call it mydomain.co.uk/blog. How do I go about doing this? Thanks

At last!! I've got it to work. Not sure what made the difference, but I logged into the cpanel by not using the pre domain propagation url and placing the image in the html folder instead of the images folder. I'm just glad it's working. Thanks for the contributions and taking the time to reply.

The image is placed in the public_html images folder At first I thought the image might have been CMYK, but I've redone the image as a PNG and it states that it's an RGB file. naturallightopt.png File Type: PNG image data, 746 x 178, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced I'm using CPanel to upload.

During the very height of the Mad Cow scare in the UK, everyone panicked and boycotted beef. 90% of US Beef is bought by the local market. If Americans are panicked by the media, the industry will be devasted. Here in Northern Ireland, we were not affected as much because we had the highest standards of beef production in Europe. Consumers were happier. It didn't stop the Republic of Ireland sealing the border to prevent animals being transported into the republic. They did more to prevent animals crossing the border than they did preventing terrorists escaping over the border!!! I am sure you are concerned, but stick to good quality meat and avoid low grade meat products like pies, burgers, stock cubes...gravy etc. The farmers are to blame, trying their best to poison us all!

I very new to all this! I have my website and forum installed, everything looks great. I want to allow users to upload files to my ftp site. How is this done? How do I allow access to upload files? How do I keep my site safe from everyone..passwords etc? thanks
