jtrai491 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Last month I installed McAfee Security Center. I have been running Zone Alarm with McAfee Virus Scan but had this upgrade and decided to try it. For the past month, I have been getting bombarded with spam and junk mail, sometimes as many as 500 messages a day. I use Outlook 2003 for my e-mail client and it seems that Outlook no longer runs my e-mail rules properly, so everyday I have to check all e-mails manually to make sure I do not delete anything that is not spam and move e-mails to the proper folder. Is anyone else using McAfee's Security Center and what problems have you had. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Did you install the Spam Killer program that comes with the Security Center package? Have you configured it to run and scan your email program? These programs don't always get everything but 500 sounds way to high. Have you been "programming" Spam Killer to start blocking common types of spam, there are several ways in Spam Killer to do this. You can manually place subjet titles or text strings or you can do an automatic block and Spamm Killer will block similar emails. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Also, check your default email address in cPanel and set it to :fail: to trash messages that are being delivered to non-existent account names. Quote
