Samrc Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 The link to TCH is on the home page: http://www.samisite.com/ and again on my web building resources page: http://www.samisite.com/webbuild.htm Site name: Sami's Site Description: Tutorial support site for CSB and Trellix made by Samantha Conway with a personal flavor added. The full site has not been moved from my old ISP freebie sites...still under construction, but fully functional. Just got the domain name in May and only show on Google under Sami Site. Any critique welcome, including Rank Evaluation (please). -Samantha Quote
SEO Posted July 8, 2003 Posted July 8, 2003 Just got back in town from a long (too long) July 4th Weekend. You are on my list. Quote
SEO Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Samantha, your site is added (nonprofit/information members). SEO Thoughts (not ranked in order of importance): Not in Google's index. 1. You have too many keywords (Meta tag), focus on the most important. Also, remember to list them in order of importance (the most important first). 2. [preface: remember that I am speaking in terms of SEO only] I do not like your Meta description and title. I tell you what.... give me a list of your top 12 (or so) keywords and then we will go from there. To be continued.... Quote
Samrc Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 CSB, cutesite builder, Trellix, support, tutorial, script, html, code, design, Samantha, Conway Personal site for Samantha Conway with CSB and Trellix website building tutorial support When I had the freebie sites for a few months, I did not bother to put in keywords or descriptions, or even title pages. It was never sent into a search engine and never spidered (didn't want it because I knew it was not staying...) But now that I have a domain name, I would like it to be picked up. Been a couple months now and finally have enough on the site to make it worth finding (or so I think anyway). I know it isn't good to combine two completely different purposes into the same site. I would not recommend having a support site also be a personal site. I know they should be separated, or put one as a subdomain. But at this point I want it together. As usual, I am not following the rules and it will probably hurt me in the long run. If you search google for Sami Site it DOES appear as second site on 1st page. But if you search my site based on the URL it is not found. -Samantha Quote

Samrc Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 Thank you. Will change it tonight when I get home. I appreciate the assistance very much. -Samantha Quote
Singer Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 I like your site - looks nice and useful pieces of info. I may take a more serious look sometime later on. A small typo in Scott's suggestion which I see you transferred into your web page: "cutsite" instead of "cutesite" is being used both in the "description" and "keywords" tags. (...unless I'm misunderstanding what's wanted! ) Quote
Samrc Posted July 12, 2003 Author Posted July 12, 2003 You are right! In both the summary and keywords... Changed both. I like your site - looks nice and useful pieces of info. I may take a more serious look sometime later on. Thanks for the kind words. It started as a testing ground for me on how to implement new features or a sample assist someone on the CSB forum and has grown from there. -Samantha Quote
