How Do I Get A Domain Name >.<

I bought a webhosting package about 2 months ago and i have not been able to figure out how to get a domain name!! Right now i can only access my site via IP address, could someone please tell me what i have to do to be able to access my site using my domain name.

You can purchase a domain name anywhere

or from TCH.

 

After you get the domain name,

if you buy it elsewhere you will need to log in where you buy the domain name

and point it to the name servers in your welcome email.

Then it may take up to 72 hours to update all the ISP name servers in the world.

I bought a domain at namecheap.com. I didn't know that those 2 addresses that started with dns1./dns2 were all i needed to enter. Also, if the domain i puchased is diffrent from the domain in the welcome email, will it work?

Sure, just log in to your namecheap account and change the dns to the 2 in your welcome email

and in a short while your domain name will resolve to your account.

If it takes more than 72 hours open a help desk ticket (link at top of page)

and ask the techs to check on it.

 

If you mean you signed up with one name and then bought a different name

open a help desk ticket to the techs and explain

for user and password log-in at the help desk use the user / pass word in your welcome email for your account

and use an email from your ISP or gmail or the like

and check your spam folders if you have them.

You will receive an auto email with a link to your ticket.
