LastCallGames
Someone on my forums brought up the idea of adding a mailing list to my site for my online riddle, but I'm really not sure about how to add one, can anyone help? Also, is there a way I can block "Unknown" Emails, from being received?
TCH-Andy
Can you expand a little on these two questions please? What do you want the mailing list to do? Just so that people can sign up, and they will get a message that only you will send? Or do you want more than one person to be able to send to the whole list? How many people are you likely to have in the list ? On the "Unknown", do you mean anyone who is not in your contact list? or do you mean ones sent to invalid email addresses that end up in your inbox? or something else? LastCallGames
Sorry about that, didn't really explain much :\ 1) Mailing list that people can sign up for or I can add their names to and only I can send messages that go to everyone on the list. 2) Everything in the message comes up as "Unknown" (ie UnknownAddress@UnknownDomain -- UnknownSubject) - I want to block any messages that come in like that
TCH-Don
For 1. you can use an email list script such as phplist (in fantastico) or Dadamail (mojo.skazat.com) You put a link on your site where visitors can sign up. They will have to click a link in an automatic email sent to their email address and then they are subscribed. Later they can go back to the link on your site and unsubscribe and resubscribe with a new address. You can log in to the admin panel to compose and send an email to the list, be sure to set the options to send in small batches, open a ticket to ask the limits, as we do not discuss them here. for 2. I do not understand, the list just send out not receives. Unless you mean a returned email to a no longer valid address, all you can do then is remove the address from your list.
