I backed up my files and such but the damn zip file or whatever won't open for me to view the files. It keeps giving me this error.

 

Invalid Compressed Data -- Unable to inflate.

 

Sucks that I wasted bandwidth downloading something that doesn't even work. Why wouldn't it work??

Do you mean the cPanel backup function?

 

Go to cPanel, click on Documentation and then un-collapse Access Menu, then click Backup:

 

Note for Windows users: This file is in .tar.gz format (a GZIP archive file that contains a TAR archive file). This is a common archive format used on Unix machines, in the same way that .zip is a common Windows archive format. Most compression utilities should be able to uncompress a .tar.gz file.

 

It will work, by using the cPanel Restore function. But, as the documentation reads, perhaps the zip app that you are using does not recognize the format.
