FilmBuffRich Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 (edited) I recently acquired another person's website which I have added onto my site as a subdomain. (http://theblobsite.filmbuffonline.com) I've also been transfered the Registration to the original site (www.theblob.info). Do subdomains generate their own DNS addresses so that I can set the original site to automatically refer to the subdomain at my site? If so, where on the cPanel can I find it? Thanks guys and gals! Madmanmcp Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 You cannot point a domain at a subdomain according to the AUP located here: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-aup.html "Your subdomains are allowed to be used for any legal purpose. You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders. " Quote
abinidi Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Bob is right, FilmBuff. You aren't allowed to host multiple sites, or have domain names point to your subdomains if you don't have a reseller account. Note, however that reseller accounts are allowed to do this. If you have a reseller account and you have questions about using it with multiple domains, then you might post a question in the resellers forum, as there are many TCH customers in that forum who can help you. Best wishes. Quote
FilmBuffRich Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 Hmmm.... Reseeler accounts are a foreign territory to me. Off to do a little reading a see if this is how I want to proceed. Quote
FilmBuffRich Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 OK... I think I have this figured out. And I don't want to drop additional $ at this time to set myself up as a reseller. I'll just point the old site towards my mainsite and set up a link to the subdomain on my index page. Quote
