sheryltoo Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I was trying to upload a file on my site this morning and don't know what I did but I must have done something I shouldn't have done because I'm now getting an error message saying my uploading has been restricted because I exceeded the file system quota. I don't understand what this means or what I did. First of all, I'm sorry for doing something I shouldn't have done and second, could someone explain what I must have done so I don't do it again? Thanks Sheryl Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 It sounds to me that you have (more or less) used all the space for your account and there just isn´t enough room for this new file. In cpanel, you can see how much space you have left. Quote
sheryltoo Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 It says I have 896.55 MBs left and the file was no where's near as big as that, lol. Sheryl Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Then its ticket time so the techs can have a look at it. Quote
sheryltoo Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 It seems to be working and now I'm wondering if it was ever not working. I don't remember seeing that message in the past about my uploading being restricted but it was still there yet I was able to upload files. Is that just a warning message in case I'm getting low on space? Earlier today, I created a new folder where I wanted these files and after uploading them, I realized I used a capital letter to name the folder and wanted to use all lower case letters. I couldn't figure out how to change the folder name so I created a new folder and then tried to move my files. After that, I kept getting error messages saying I couldn't move a file and nothing seemed to be working right, or so I thought. I did finally figure out how to change the name of a folder, which was so easy if you click the right thing but still couldn't get my files in it so I thought I'd start all over again. That's when I noticed the message about uploads being restricted and figured I'd made a mess of things. Maybe I didn't and just never noticed that message before. In any event, it seems ok so thanks for the help. Sheryl Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Just guessing now but perhaps the techs followed this thread and did something we don´t know about. Anyway, I am glad it´s working now. Quote
