Here's a great tool for anyone who wants to create or work on their .htaccess file or the things it controls.

It's called the .htaccess File Generator.

 

NOTE: Make sure you back up your file before putting the new one in place... just in case it's not quite what you wanted.

People, please make a backup of your current .htaccess file before making any changes. You can shut down your site pretty easily with a simple mistake in this file. *** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ***
