Reality_Burst Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Hey, Didn't know where to look for help on this so maybe someone here can point me in the right direction or can explain what I've done wrong? I've installed the newest version of xoops on my website and I am trying to get it up and running, but after installation, I can reach all my administration options, except...My index page displays as a blank screen. I've move over my old index.htm file to a different folder in the Cpanel and have upload a few things I thought may help, but still no success. Has anyone experienced this before or know what I'm talking about? Help! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Can't say I know what it could be never having installed Xoops. Do you have an index.htm or index.html and an index.php file in the same folder? Are you sure it's extension is .htm and not .php? If you have a .htm or .html index page they will load before a .php version. Quote
Reality_Burst Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 I moved the previous index.htm file into a different folder I'd created, this xoops index extention is .php, and it's intact, and in the correct root folder... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Have you looked at the source of the index.php file? Is there content in it and the server is just not parsing it? Quote
Reality_Burst Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Is has content, the strange part to this is that if I rename it to index2.php [or any variation], it works, but only if you know you're suppose to type in "/index2.php." Quote
abinidi Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Since you know the file works when you rename it, I'd guess that you're having some type of server problem. If it were me, I'd open a help desk ticket on this one. Explain everything you did here, including the part about the file working if it has been renamed to index2.php. Good luck!! Quote
Reality_Burst Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Thank you guys! The help desk was able to fix this almost instantly! If anyone wants to know: There was a filter set on the .htaccess file of the account. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 There was a filter set on the .htaccess file of the account. That was my next guess. Glad they were able to sort it out for you. Quote
