Adam Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 Hi guys, short time reader, first time poster, lazy person who thinks he searched the site/forum and didn't find an answer. I feel pretty comfortable with editing php, html, and cgi files. I installed phpnuke from my cpanel, and I want to edit a few things (removing the images from articles, how many bytes is in each article, and quite a few other things). Is there a site that could point me to which files contain which information? I understand there may be some legalities to this (I will read the disclaimer on phpnuke.org's site before going ahead with the edit), but is there info as to where/what can be tweaked in phpnuke? Thanks for any advice, even if it's "you n00b, you can't do it at all. Go back to Yahoo Solitare". Quote
TCH-Sales Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 Yes I'd be VERY careful of the legalities, because not doing so can get you in lots of trouble. Your question is pretty wide-open, but maybe if you gave us an example of a certain thing you wanted to do then hopefully some of us would be able to help you out. Quote
Adam Posted June 22, 2003 Author Posted June 22, 2003 Thankfully I just read the license and the modifications can be made (via their site). In the center posts, I would like to shift the "posted by" to the left, remove the timestamp (and leave the date only), remove the byte and score information, and amount of reads. Remove some of the information from the stats area (comments, actually). Remove the option for comments altogether (so it's not even a choice). Remove the option for the picture/icon in a post altogether (so it's not even a choice). This is just a start, but this is what I'd like to get going on. Thanks for the reply, cereal. Much appreciated. Quote
