I like their warning

ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT UPGRADE DIRECTLY ON A LIVE SITE. Set up a test site, and be sure things are working as intended, before going "live". It is next to impossible to help everyone in an emergency situation where their shop suddenly isn't working due to something missed while customizing or upgrading.
