Hello everyone!

I'm new to TCH. My name is Tim and my site will be/is AtomicVPp.com I have some questions about using web folders how to upload periodically.

Web Folders in Windows 98:

1) Can I use Web Folders with TCH BEFORE the DNS has Propagated?

2) Can I use Web Folders with TCH AFTER the DNS has Propagated?

3) How do I set it up?

4) What URL format do I use? (Like: http://0.0.0.0/ or http://0.0.0.0/~Account)

Periodic Upload:

1) Does anyone have suggestions for programs to upload a file(php file with a txt extension) every 30 seconds?

2) Are there any other ways to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I believe the answer to both of your questions is YES, both are possible. Before the DNS update, you will need to use the IP address given to y ou in the welcome email. Afterwards you can either continue with the IP adress or use the domain name.

For uploads, everytime you upload, you will use up bandwidth. So thus if your upload say a 10kb txt file every 30 seconds, over the course of one day, you will have used up about 30mb of Bandwidth, over a month thats like a whole gig!

May I ask why you need to upload a file every 30 seconds?

Hey Jim.

I use the mp3 player 'Systray Player,' which can out put the current song title and state to a text file. I changed the settings so it will output php code to the text file and I have made a seprate php file that updates ever 20 or 30 seconds to show the change. I was going to put it on my site on a side bar or something like that. The file is about 148 bytes.
