rnmcd Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I use SmartFTP. Quite often when I try to view a file with SmartFTP I get a message (see attachment). In this case it says the Existing File is 0 bytes and do I want to replace it with a 365bytes file. My question is, where is it coming up with this 0 byte size file? I KNOW the existing file that I want to view is 365bytes. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 When you select view in smartFTP, it first copies the file to the temp directory of your computer, before it then opens the correct application. Hence it is asking about overwriting a zero length file in your temp directory with the file you want to view (which is 365 bytes, and it is trying to copy). Quote

You are sure it is not overwriting the file on the server? When I choose overwrite, the file on the server changed to a zero length file. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 If it is happening just after you have said "view file" then yes, I'm certain Quote
