I use MT 3.2 with SpamLookup enabled, and recently moved to TCH after an incident of spam at my old host. This company was included in a list of MT-friendly hosts, and this seemed important as my old host's actions seemed to demonstrate that they had neither any interest in blogging nor any sensitivity to blogging hazards.

Basically I had a huge run on my trackback script, which caused their server to grind to a halt, and they moved my entire site off the server rather than just the TB script. I wrote back explaining what had happened (within a few minutes of getting an email informing me of the action), but I got no reply and so started looking for a new host.

Anyway, what I was wondering is (a) if TCH would remove an entire site or just the offending script and (:) if TCH makes any allowance for such hazards when monitoring bandwidth? I've taken due precautions (like renaming my TB script and removing references to trackback from my templates), but would TCH allow spam attacks and malicious denial of service attacks to force a customer off the web? And do renamed TB scripts ever get spammed?

Welcome to the forums IndigoJo

You will receive an email when your bandwidth reaches 80% of your alloted plan. You need to act on that message when you get it otherwise your site will be suspended when it reaches 100% until the following month.

If your site is causing severe loads on the server your site will be suspended until the script causing the load is removed or fixed.

These are shared servers and the policy is in place to to protect all on the server. I'm sure you would not want your site to be unreachable if a neighboring account was causing problems.

The help desk will work with you to resolve problems.

If your account is compromised or hacked all content will possibly be removed to protect the other clients on the server as well as the server itself.
