Hi,

cPanel will not accept my user name or my password. I just tried a new password etc., and still doesn't work. Am I missing something obvious again? While I'm at it ... can I just select and copy that horrendously long password and paste it into the space or do I have to type it?

Cheers,

Hi Mrs Muddled,

For the problem with not being able to log in to cpanel, if you know you have not misspelled anything (including uppercase and lowercase typos) then you will need to submit a ticket to the helpdesk so they can investigate it.

As for pasting it, I think it would work but I don´t think I have tried it. You may want to look for a program that will help you remembering usernames and passwords and maybe also enter it in to the log in boxes. One is Any Password. I don´t know if this program will fill out the info automatically when you visit a site which require you to log in. I know that Firefox have a built in function for this. If there are other programs that can do this as well, I don´t know.

Yes copy and paste will work

that's how I use any password

Did you clear your browser cache after changing your password?

The help desk can get you set up with your desired password.

No Don, I didn't do that ... hmm ... back to the drawing board ... sorry I posted this on the wrong forum ... man alive! Lost in the wilderness once again! Those passwords are so flippin long and convoluted I was going blind trying to copy it! I just wonder what happened to the nice password etc. that I made myself when I first joined the ranks here.

I'll find the help desk and see what's up.

I'm really hesitant to use one of those programs that remembers all my passwords. I just don't trust them.

Thanks for the guidance.

I used to be like that too. Since my job requires extensive laptop usage and it's a government agency (we all know how fanatical they are about passwords :P), AnyPassword has been a great help. I keep it on a USB memory stick. That way I can use it in either my work laptop or home computer. It's attached to my work ID card, so I always know where it is! If you give it a try, you might find that you like it!
