I am considering using ezPublish for the next generation design of one of my sites. I was wondering if anyone here knew how hard this CMS is to skin? I am PHP "challenged" and only so-so at CSS and HTML. I am one of those Photoshop/Fireworks design and slice for output to Dreamweaver type people.... ha ha!

Also, if anyone here has installed ez Publish and can give me their personal opinions on it, that would be much appreciated.

Basically I want to develop a new site that has robust news and community features but I want the site to look really pretty.

Well, I have not used it but a quick Google on "ezpublish skins" gives a few results. I would say that with a tad of work it is possible. Let see if we have any family members that have tried this though and see how in depth it might be.

When I did a search on Yahoo a few companies came up that have ready made skins... but they were.... well... lame! LOL

I hope to create my own skin.

Guess the only way to do is try....

From what I can gather the design is DIV based CSS. Guess I better get crackin on the learning tip!

Rob, do you know if this CMS is allowed on TCH Servers. I read some things about other CMS packages being resource hogs on shared servers. Who should I check with?

Yeah... been reading that it might be a hog. Would I email tech support to see if it's OK to use on TCH servers. So far I haven't found another CMS that has everything I want. EzPublisher is the best I've looked at so far.

I would hate to do a design and then be asked to pull the CMS off the server because it was too greedy :P

It's doubtful that tech support could give you an answer other than respond as Rob did.

Unless support knew someone else was running this cms they would have no idea.

Ah Ok. Well what I was going to do is play with it on one of my less travelled domains and then if I like it I was going to set it up on my main site domain when the time is right.

I guess I will have to see what happens.
