First off i want to say i have been with TCH for a little over a year and haven't had 1 problem at all!! THANKS TCH!!

Anyway...

I was updating some things on my web site when i noticed a strange email appearing in my "Cpanel>mail>Forwarding Maintenance".

I have some address being forwarded to my Gmail (i like the interface :D ) when i noticed this address in the list

"info@*************.com >> lemonlimon@******.**.com"

*I replaced the domain with stars for privacy.

the domains have nothing to do with my domain.

I have never seen this in my "Forwarding Maintenance" section before.

Is this just a default address the Cpanel puts in, or am i getting all worked up over nothing?

Any help or information is greatly appreciated!

This one sounds weird.

One thing I know for sure is that neither TCH or cpanel does not enter any addresses in your account.

You would need to open a ticket to the helpdesk so they can check it out, such as if things looks like a hacking attempt.

I would like to add to this thread -- as I'm in the midst of dealing with a ticket to the helpdesk on an issue similar to this.

It was unsettling to find that not only had forwarders I'd had set up for at least a year "disappeared" and were replaced with 13 forwarders of addressess that I would suspect to be spam; but I could not personally delete the strange forwarders, either.

I'm still waiting for response from the helpdesk, as the first go-round, I was told they (the helpdesk) had deleted some responders that were caused by a cPanel glitch for me.

My second query to them is: "What about the other seven you left there, that I know nothing about, and what happened to the forwarders I had set up?"

If you (folks of the forum boards) have heard any further word on this type of issue, I'd appreciate input. Now I'm concerned not only about my e-mail, but about what could possibly be happening that my stuff disappeared and stuff that I cannot delete is still there.

Edit:

The third and final response I received was:

The forwarders problem caused by a cPanel bug and we have updated the cPanel right now. If any of your forwarders messed up, please recreate it thorugh cPanel. Thank you for using TotalChoice Hosting, LLC.

I now need a reality check as well -- I'm a realtively naive user, so, please cue me in -- is the quote listed above an adequate answer to sophisticated users? It strikes me as being less than forthcoming. So, if I'm expecting too much in reply from TCH Customer Service, please give me your opinions.

Thank you.

Fenn.

Fenn, since it was a bug in cPanel and the techs know that was the cause of the problem I don't know what other response could they give you?

cPanel is not written or maintained by TCH and they are at the mercy of the folks at cPanel.net to correct bugs.

It's kinda late tonight, but I was thinking of looking for info on a CPanel forum or FAQ. (I'm sure they gotta have something like that available for users.) Maybe someone else can research this for us. If not, I'll look into it tomorrow.

Oh...and welcome to the forums fenn!
