ets960 Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 So I'm trying to create a new web site for my parents sign business, and I need some recommendations. I just moved their hosting over to Total Choice, but now I would like to use a Content Management System for the site. My dad would eventually like to have the ability to sell his things on line (maybe using the paypal site or something), but for now I want something very simple. The other trick is that I want them to be able to update everything (the point of using the CMS). So therefore I need it to be extremely easy. I've been looking at CMS made simple, and it seems like I might be going that way, but I'm not sure if anybody else had ideas. Thanks for the great hosting! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Welcome to the forums ets960 I just started playing with Website Baker which was recommended by someone in this forum. It's easy to setup and get started. Don't know how difficult it will be to add in an online store to it. But if it's easy you are looking for this one is hard to beat. Quote
stevevan Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Not having played with any CMS programs, I can't really recommend any. But the latest talk has gotten me interested. Keep us posted on what you find out! Oh...and welcome to the forums! Quote
ets960 Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 Thanks guys! I've been using Total Choice for about 6 months now and am convincing everybody I know to switch. Thanks for the warm welcome! Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 There is a simple cms called GuppY I think one of our family members recommended it. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Welcome to the forums Have a look at http://opensourcecms.com/ - they have demos and descriptions for most of the open source (free) content management systems. Quote
