phonetease Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Recently, my control panel File Manager has been loading EXTREMELY Slow. It starts going slow when I go under my publichtml folder. I have a lot of editing to do and it is Incredibly difficult to wait 5 or 10 minutes after I press the scroll button until the page decides to move. I am not sure what it is, but I think it is because I have so much under this folder. I think that if I put alot of the stuff into a different folder and deleted some unused files, it might go a little quicker, but I am dreading going one by one and clicking 'move this file' because I know it was take hours just to move 4 or 5 of them. So my question is, is there anyway to do this in bulk? What I mean is how can I move a huge amount of them to another folder? It would be even better if I could do this through the main control panel, since loads quickly and is simpler to do. Please tell me you can help. Thank you Quote
TCH-Rick Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Once you get a lot of files in your folders it is much easier to use an FTP client rather than cPanel. I like Filezilla but Smart FTP is also great. Both are free and can be found using a Google search or looking on the Help Page. These programs would make moving a bunch of files much easier. Quote
ztrauq Posted May 18, 2003 Posted May 18, 2003 If you're using a Mac, Fetch is a good FTP client, albeit shareware... if you're looking for a good free FTP client, try RBrowserLite. Both of them can be found with a google search or at versiontracker.com. Quote
