Hello folks,

I have multiple domains hosted at TCH and I want COPY one to a different domain hosted by TCH.

"Why?" you ask. The current domain is where I with the help of other people are developing the site. Now that I am ready to go "live" with the site I want to move it to it's 'real' domain.

Can someone explain how to do this? Should I use cPanel or ftp?

There is an associated database which I have no clue how to copy over.

The present domain will still be used for further development of the site and as changes are made I will copy the new/edited files to the "live" domain. So in essence I will have 2 site doing about the same thing, except only the "live" one will be available to the public.

Thank you.

I think the easiest thing to do would be open a help desk ticket to support and tell them what you want and they can move it in one fell swoop. Link at top of page.

Support was able to copy over the website.

They replied to me, "I have moved your data as you had requested. Please verify this and make sure that you change the path (/home/new cpanel username......)for your applications."

What 'path' are they talking about? Are they referring to changing the intra-site links?

If you are using any databases they would have a configuration file. I think this is what they are referring too.

Would the database configuration file not being changed cause the index page not to load?

No, are you using a forum or blog?  If every thing is working you don't need to do anything.

I didn't think I would need to do much. I am not using a forum or a blog on this site.

There is a mysql database though.

On my new index page is many line similiar to:

Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/localme/public_html/template/winds/style.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/inkbekd/:/usr/local/sqmail/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/inkbekd/public_html/include/common.php on line 62

Since you had your site moved to another folder the /home/inkbekd is probably something else. These will have to be changed for the includes to work.

These are the paths they were referring too.
