webgyrl Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 (edited) Hi! Just set up a blog at Blogger.com but hosting it on my TCH account. I have set it up, but for some reason the blog is not showing. Can someone check my settings and tell me where I might have gone wrong? The following are my settings (actual domain name changed) FTP Server: ftp.mydomainname.com Blog URL: http://www.mydomainname.com/polyphonicjourney/ FTP Path: /home/cpanelusername/www/public_html/ Blog Filename: index.html When I publish the blog, it publishes successfully, but then when I "View Blog" it goes to an error 404 page. Is it possible that I have the FTP Path wrong? In the setup notes they say it should be something like: /www/public_html/ When I emailed TCH support they said the FTP Path for my server is /home/cpanelusername What should I have put? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. If you want the actual URL to the blog, please PM me. Thanks Edited July 11, 2005 by webgyrl Quote
webgyrl Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 (edited) Also, not sure if this helps. I didn't create the directory "polyphonicjourney" before I made the blog and I can't seem to find the directory on my server. Should I create this directory in the public_html directory? webgyrl Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 Ok.. I fixed it. I did need to create the directory and I had the FTP path wrong. It should have been: public_html/polyphonicjourney Hope this info helps someone else! Quote
TweezerMan Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I'm glad you were able to get it working! The www and public_html directories are the same directory, as www is a link to the public_html directory. The '/home/cpanelusername' part of the server path is hidden from FTP, so you would normally omit that from an FTP path setting. Quote
webgyrl Posted July 11, 2005 Author Posted July 11, 2005 (edited) Thanks David. Yeah I was a bit confused about the correct path... but got it figured out. Hope you are doing great! Edited July 11, 2005 by webgyrl Quote
