I have come close to addressing this question back in October but this time it's a little different.

My laptop took a bath died a shocking death a little while back and I am looking to replace it, possibly with a Dell Inspiron 2200 Celeron 'M' Processor (fits the budget and looks fine for what I do) and it has some wireless options.

internal 802.11b/g or internal 802.11a/b/g

My current "access point" is 802.11b protocol. Am I correct in assuming that either of the options will work with my existing setup but at the slower speed?
