Web-based Application

I wrote a MS Access database, which is accessed by a handful of users over a LAN in a hospital environment. It works well, but I was wondering if there is any real advantage to making a similar web-based database?

 

I want to experience more in web design, but I need to be able to justify it. It seems to me it would be more complicated, but that it would allow more flexibility. Security is not a major issure for my database.

 

Any ideas?
